SAID WELL
Large-Scale Burn sculpture, 2025
Said Well is a space for the words that help us understand, imagine, and feel—messages that allow us to connect, grieve, and release. It reflects on the truths, confessions, and expressions we long to share but often hesitate to voice, and how these unsent or unspoken messages shape our relationships and sense of self.
The sculpture takes the form of a massive wooden bottle, built like a barrel from reclaimed materials and resting as though it has washed ashore. Its curved staves and towering form suggest a vessel meant to hold something precious, both preserved and isolated. Inside, visitors engage with their own truths in quiet, contemplative ways: dropping a cork into the Well to grieve words that can no longer be delivered, speaking hopes and desires into the Listening Line, or leaving and taking words sent adrift in the Message Exchange.
Said Well offers a space to reflect, connect, and find the courage to express what matters most, letting words flow, be received, and set us free.
